Project: Lowy Cancer Research Centre (University of NSW), Sydney

The Lowy Cancer Research Centre is an Australian first, bringing together childhood and adult cancer research at the one site. The project comprises approximately 17,000 sq.m of laboratories, laboratory write up areas and miscellaneous areas over 8 levels. It claims to be one of the most comprehensively monitored facilities of its kind in Australia.

Scope: Integrated building management systems

Status: Completed

Specs: Alerton Envision BMS suite with native BACnet® open communication platform for the mechanical and medical systems, including:

  • PC2 class laboratory air conditioning and ventilation systems;
  • HVAC controls
  • fume cupboards
  • ventilation systems
  • medical gases controls
  • central plant controls
  • indoor air quality with CO2 monitoring, and
  • compressed air controls.
