Project: General John Baker Complex, near Bungendore, NSW

The Headquarters Joint Operations Command Centre (known as General John Baker Complex) is a high technology facility for the Australian Defence Force’s operational activities. The complex was designed to be substantially self-sustainable, with features such as on-site sewerage treatment and a self-sufficient water supply system.

Scope: Implementation of a fully integrated building automation system using the open BACnet® protocol, with reporting and routing of critical alarms and events. The Optergy™ energy management system monitors and forecasts facility energy consumption and achieved a 5 Star ABGR and Green Star rating for the facility.

Status: Completed

Specs: Alerton Envision BMS suite with native BACnet® open communication platform, Optergy™ real-time energy management, including:

  • boilers and chillers water plant monitoring and controls
  • condenser water plant controls
  • exhaust system controls
  • VAVs, AHUs and fan coil unit controls
  • lighting controls
  • electricity, gas and water consumption metering, and
  • energy management strategy.
