Educational – Holmesglen

Project: Holmesglen TAFE, Melbourne

Holmesglen is one of the largest providers of vocational and higher education in Victoria. It has grown from a delivery of 90 programs to 7,000 students, to a unique multi-sectoral provider offering over 600 programs. Holmesglen delivers its programs across three campuses: Chadstone, Moorabbin and Waverley.

Scope: Implementation of a fully integrated building automation system across three main campuses, using the open BACnet® protocol. This provides event management with reporting and routing of critical alarms and events, and monitoring and forecasting of facility energy consumption.

Status: Completed

Specs: Optergy™ real-time energy management and Alerton’s native BACnet® open communication platform, including:

  • boilers and chillers water plant monitoring and controls
  • condenser water plant
  • exhaust system controls
  • VAVs, AHUs and fan coil unit controls
  • lighting controls
  • electrical, gas and water consumption metering, and
  • maximum demand management with comprehensive energy management strategy.
